What els can we discover in Croatcia?

Blue Caves

On this day, you can take a fast boat to check out the Blue Caves on Biševo.

You can only enter the caves with an offical tour to protect the caves.

It's a trip well worth checking out when in Croatia.

Dubrovnik is a beautiful old town, which has stood the test of time. She is a wonder to behold.

Dubrovnik is on the itinerary, however we'd suggest you spend an extra day or two here, if time allows as there's so much to see and explore. Oh, and the restaurants!

Wine Tour

Croatia is also known for her wine and wineries. Among many of the islands you can do a wine tour, have a wine tasting or just pop to the winery for dinner on their estate.

Often the best dinners have been prepared by the wineries.

Melissani Caves

The Melissani Caves are found in our port of Sami on Kefalonia and are known to the Greeks as the 'Caves of the Nymphs' and are an optional addition to your day.

These caves were only recently discovered after an earthquake created a hole in the land, exposing the freshwater lake that has been hidden for thousands of years.

Porto Katsiki

Porto Katsiki is one of the swim stops we make. The sheer dazzle of the water will amaze you, just as only the waters in Greece can do.

With the high white cliffs and white sandy bottom, even at 10 meters the water looks touchable and pristine. It's the perfect swim stop for your afternoon.

Standard Items

Travel insurance - it might be worthwhile checking with your company to ensure you're covered for sailing activities or any last-minute emergencies,

Travel dates - if your schedule allows it, stay an extra day before and after your trip. Don’t fly in on Saturday and join the boat immediately, then finish your trip on Saturday, then fly out that day, you will miss out on so much of the amazing Old Towns. Also, the airports are very busy on Saturdays, so allow for an hour to check in during peak times.

Rock shoes - the rocks can be sharp and if you have some rock shoes, they may be a handy addition to your luggage (if you plan on a little exploring),

Luggage - most people tend to over pack for a sailing holiday. You generally can pack on the light side, just remember your swimmers, something for the evening at dinner and a warm jacket. Soft bags are preferred on the boat as they're easier to stow away and cause less damage,

Beach towel - We will provide ben linen and a towel, however if you’d like a beach towel it may pay to bring your own,

Linen - a towel and hand towel will be provided for the week,

Power adapter - it’s always good to bring a power adapter for any electrical items, including USB cords and 12V connectors. The boat has 2 prong European power points, personal power banks are also a great idea to bring with you,

Accommodation - if you're planning on staying longer in the stops, remember to book your accommodation also. You can try companies such as Air BnB, booking.cometc.

Medication - if you need medication, remember to bring it with you, including seasickness tablets if you get motion sickness. It’s better to be safe than seasick!

Music - pack your favourite music on your iPod or MP3 player and remember to pack your aux cable,

Money - bring cash for our first day, as the island may not have an ATM or accept cards,

Alcohol - Bring your favourite drink for your first night, should you wish to have a wine on board,

Shoes - any shoes with dark or marking soles and heels are not permitted on board. It would be wise to bring flip-flops or similar for the hot weather,

Personal - Remember your personal toiletries, including shampoo and to pack your swimmers!

Internet – Although we will have WIFI on the boat, if you want permanent internet on your phone/devices, you can buy a T Mobile SIM for €11 which gives you local calling, SMS and 7-days unlimited 4G data,

WhatsApp - If you haven't got WhatsApp installed on your phone, download it as we create a group specific to your boat so that we can communicate with everyone and all guests and crew can share their best photos with everyone,

Yoga gear - comfortable clothing, remember it might be warm.

Other items guests like to bring can also include:

Underwater camera or GoPro for creating a video of your holiday,

National flag; some guests like to bring their national flag to hoist and fly to show the diverse nationalities that travel from afar to enjoy the sailing experience.

Marina arrival

  • Please make sure you arrive at Marina KaÅ¡tela (pronounced "cash-teller"), (Split) with plenty of time, all taxi drivers know where it is, if not there is a map below with the address and a phone number to call.

  • Guest check-in and bag drop is 1 pm at the boat(s) and boarding time is 2 pm. The boats can be found in the service area, you will see the large white 'Med Sailing Holidays" flags.

  • If you can arrive to the boat well before the guests, we can get you settled and ready for everyone's arrival. You can catch up with everyone after you've got your bearings and know your way around the marina.

  • When you arrive, have your driver take you to the service area of the marina, where you can drop off your luggage and meet you crew.

  • The boat is an Oceanis 48 called Nabucco

  • If you are unsure, you can go into Noa Yachting office and the staff will advise where you can find the Med Sailing Holiday’s boats. It's worth noting that the marina oversells annual contracts, so our boats are generally berthed in the service area. See the map for details on where to find the 'service area'.

  • If you require marina instructions when you're in Croatia, please call Noa Yachting on +385 21 271 185. The staff are all fluent in English and very friendly.

  • Embarkation days can be quite busy, so it’s also wise to arrive a little early and relax. There is plenty of outdoor seating at the café, with sun protection.
